PPSO Arrest Boothville Man on Various Drug Charges Including Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance Near a Schoo

The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office announces the arrest of Justin Murry, 33, of Boothville for multiple drug-based charges including Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) and Possession of a CDS near a school.
After conducting an investigation in the Boothville-Venice area, the PPSO Drug Interdiction & Criminal Enforcement (DICE) Unit was able to secure a search warrant for Murry's place of residence which is located in close proximity to a Plaquemines Parish school. On February 27, 2025, PPSO DICE Unit executed the search warrant at the residence of Murry, where the search yielded the discovery and seizure of a distribution amount of Schedule II CDS Cocaine and Tapentadol along with items commonly associated with the distribution of illegal narcotics and an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency. Murry was also found to be in possession of three firearms.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this is an armed convicted felon in possession of distribution amounts of cocaine and other illegal narcotics located just a few yards from a Plaquemines Parish school," said Sheriff Jerry Turlich. "This is unacceptable and we will continue to aggressively pursue crimes such as these in order to maintain a high quality of life for our community especially the youth of our parish."
Justin Murry was charged with the following: Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Schedule II CDS (Cocaine), Possession of a Schedule II CDS (Tapentadol), Possession of a CDS near a School, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Murry was convicted of Possession of a Schedule II CDS in October of 2018.
