PPSO Arrest Gonzales Man in Possession of Over Two Pounds of Marijuana

Sheriff Gerald A. Turlich, Jr. announces the arrest of Trevor Gause, 37, of Gonzales, Louisiana for Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule I CDS (Controlled Dangerous Substances) Marijuana.

On the evening of November 4, 2019, the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office (PPSO) Traffic Division conducted a traffic stop on Highway 23 in the Port Sulphur area of a vehicle operated by Gause after committing a traffic violation. During the course of the traffic investigation, deputies discovered multiple packages of marijuana including two vacuum sealed packages weighing over two pounds in the interior of the vehicle. Deputies also discovered a large amount of U.S. Currency along with miscellaneous items commonly used in the distribution of narcotics.

"For the second time within a week, we were able to make an arrest of a person transporting illegal narcotics into our community for distribution," said Sheriff Turlich. "This is a daily battle and we will remain proactive in an effort to combat drug trafficking in our parish to protect our residents from these dangerous substances."

Gause was also charged with Driving on Roadway Laned for Traffic/ Improper Lane Usage, Suspended Driver's License and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia along with multiple outstanding warrants.
