Information Technology

The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office IT Division is commanded by Lieutenant Jake Serigne under the supervision of Deputy Chief Curtis Bowers.  With the assistance of IT Specialist Deputy Allen Jolly, Jr., the technology unit administers the network and is responsible for handling highly confidential information.  They manage and maintain user accounts, security groups, and other active directory components for the department.  The IT specialists ensure that Windows systems are up to date while providing support for desktops, laptops, printers, and over 40 programs used by deputies to assist with their duties.  This includes every machine and equipment used to run and operate PPSO, such as the biometric systems, access control software, LPRs, Spillman, all security involving technology, and several other law enforcement applications.

The techs also manage servers, conduct upgrades, troubleshoot networking hardware devices and software along with many other types of repairs.  They also maintain an effective backup disaster recovery and continuance plan for emergency situations as well.

IT also assists and train deputies with all of PPSO's law enforcement programs and applications.

The technology unit is always on call including nights and weekends for technical emergencies as they provide support for all PPSO employees using information systems.
