Sheriff's Message
Celebrating 10 Years as Plaquemines Parish Sheriff

With today marking the 10th year as the Sheriff of Plaquemines Parish, I would like to thank everyone for entrusting him to keep Plaquemines Parish safe and maintaining a high quality of life for all citizens. Despite the many challenges, Plaquemines Parish remains one of the safest communities in the State of Louisiana and PPSO will continue to evolve and make the necessary adjustments to ensure the safety of the citizens within our parish.
Over the past year, I had the honor of serving as the President of the Louisiana Sheriffs' Association (LSA), where I was able to share my philosophy and leadership with all the Sheriffs in Louisiana while continuing to serve the best interests of Plaquemines Parish at the state level. Today, I officially passed the Presidential Gavel on to the LSA's New President - Sheriff Jayson Richardson from DeSoto Parish, but I will continue to fight every day for the constituents of Plaquemines Parish because we are #StrongerTogether!
- Sheriff Gerald A. Turlich, Jr.
