Public Records Requests

Requesting Public Records from the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office

The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office (PPSO) processes public records requests during regular business hours each business day. Public records requests are not processed on Saturdays, Sundays, or legal public holidays. Requests must be made in writing. Responses are made to the person making the request. The Louisiana Public Records Law is at Louisiana R.S. 44:1 et seq.

911 Audio cannot be obtained through PPSO. You must submit all requests for 911 audio to Plaquemines Parish Government.

Method of Access:

To submit a request, either complete a request at Public Records Request Online Form or email the completed Public Records Request Form to publicrecordsrequest@ppso.net

You will receive an e-mail with the total due when your request has been processed; this will serve as your invoice.

Requests are NOT to be made to individual PPSO employees. Requests made to individuals will not be fulfilled.

Response to Request:

To respond to a request for access to the PPSO public records, the PPSO needs certain information from the requestor. PPSO staff must search, retrieve and view records. The PPSO strives to inform the requestor of the status of the request within five days of receiving it. The requestor is notified of applicable fees due. See "Fees" below. Upon receipt of applicable fees, public records are available to the requestor. If payment is not received within 10 working days after notice is forwarded by the PPSO to the requestor, it may be necessary for the requestor to initiate a new request.

Estimate of Fees:

If an estimate of costs is requested, the requestor must specify that, and copies will not be made until after the requestor provides written confirmation of the order.
