For Immediate Release

Belle Chasse, LA - Sheriff Jerry Turlich announces the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office (PPSO), in coordination with the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, will be participating in the upcoming Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over safety campaign this Labor Day holiday. 

From August 14 through September 7, 2026, PPSO deputies will be focusing on identifying drivers impaired by alcohol, illegal narcotics and/or impairing medications during this national high-visibility enforcement campaign. 

Sheriff Turlich urges everyone to drive sober or designate a driver. Together, let's keep Plaquemines Parish safe and prevent accidents and fatalities this Labor Day holiday.
