Jesuit Bend Man Arrested for Possession/Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine

The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office announces the arrest of Martin Mistich, 61, of Jesuit Bend for drug-based offenses that included the possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine as well as the possession of a stolen firearm.

The PPSO Drug Interdiction & Criminal Enforcement (DICE) Unit initiated an investigation after receiving complaints of possible drug activity involving Mistich. The subsequent investigation allowed the PPSO DICE Unit to secure a search warrant for Mistich's place of residence which is located in the Jesuit Bend area. On September 18, 2025, the PPSO DICE Unit executed the search warrant at the residence of Mistich, where the search yielded the discovery and seizure of items commonly associated with the distribution of illegal narcotics and a stolen firearm. Mistich was found to be in possession of an undisclosed amount of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (Methamphetamine) at the time of his arrest.

Martin Mistich has been charged with the following: Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Schedule II CDS (Methamphetamine), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Stolen Firearm and two counts of Resisting Arrest.
