PPSO Arrest Port Sulphur Man for Possession with the Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine

The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office announces the arrest of Ernal Parker, Jr, 47, of Port Sulphur for multiple drug-based offenses that includes the Possession with the Intent to Distribute Schedule I and II Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) and Possession of a Firearm while in Possession of a CDS.
The PPSO Drug Interdiction & Criminal Enforcement (DICE) Unit initiated an investigation after receiving complaints of possible drug activity involving Parker. The subsequent investigation allowed the PPSO DICE Unit to secure a search warrant through the 25th Judicial District Court for Parker's place of residence located in the Port Sulphur area. On April 20, 2026, the PPSO DICE Unit executed the search warrant at the residence of Parker, where the search yielded the discovery and seizure of an undisclosed amount of Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance (MDMA tablets), items commonly associated with the distribution of illegal narcotics and a loaded firearm. Parker was also found to be in possession of an undisclosed amount of Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (Methamphetamine).
Ernal Parker, Jr. was charged with the following:
- Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Schedule II CDS (Methamphetamine)
- Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Schedule I CDS (MDMA Tablets)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Possession of a Firearm while in Possession of a CDS
- Obstruction of Justice
