OFFICIAL NEWS RELEASE
For Immediate Release

Sunday, August 29, 2021, 6:30 p.m.

Sheriff Gerald A. Turlich, Jr. announces that the active nightly curfew will extend parish-wide to include the Belle Chasse area effective immediately. The parish-wide curfew will continue to be from sunset until sunrise due to the hazardous conditions associated with Hurricane Ida.

With Hurricane Ida continuing to produce high winds and extensive rainfall, this may lead to hazardous driving conditions including flying debris, flooded roadways as well as obstructions such as down trees, poles and powerlines.

Residents of Plaquemines Parish are urged to continue to shelter in place until PPSO and Plaquemines Parish Government personnel are able to safely assess the affected areas.
