Belle Chasse, LA - Sheriff Gerald A. Turlich, Jr. would like to take this opportunity to thank Hosanna Church in Marrero for purchasing and donating 43 pairs of work boots to the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office (PPSO) following Hurricane Ida.

On Tuesday, September 21, Sheriff Turlich met with Pastor George McLean of Hosanna Church in Marrero at the PPSO Administration Building in Belle Chasse. Pastor McLean explained that with donations from his congregation, Colby Enterprises, Love Acadiana, East Bayou Church and the Louisiana District Assemblies of God, Hosanna Church purchased work boots from the company, Tactical Gear, at an estimated cost of $6000. Pastor McLean along with his son, Lieutenant David McLean (member of the PPSO Drug Interdiction & Crime Prevention Unit), delivered the boots to PPSO deputies throughout the parish.

"This is a timely and much needed donation. A lot of our deputies have been working for at least three weeks straight in deplorable conditions due to Hurricane Ida," said Sheriff Turlich. "With limited time and resources, this donation will give many of our deputies a fresh pair of boots so we can continue to serve our community and recover from the hurricane. Thank you to Pastor McLean and everyone that donated to support us."

Hosanna Church is located at 2215 Barataria Boulevard in Marrero and offers services on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. For additional information, you can visit their website at www.hosannachurch.us.
