Nine Plaquemines Parish Residents Apprehended during a Roundup after Federal Indictment for Conspiring to Distribute Cocaine, Crack and Methamphetamine

Belle Chasse, LA - Sheriff Gerald A. Turlich, Jr. announces the arrests of Plaquemines Parish residents, Eric Metz, age 38, Joshua Mackey, age 35, Frederick Turner, age 49, Daron Williams, age 46, Lonnie Williams, age 38, Calleigh Amos, age 29, Theodore Holmes, Jr., age 33, Leslie Parker, age 40, and Koral Wells, age 64, following a federal indictment by the United States Attorney's Office Eastern District of Louisiana for conspiring to distribute cocaine, crack and methamphetamine.

The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office (PPSO) participates in a multi-jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Task Force that targets drug trafficking in the New Orleans metropolitan area. The PPSO Task Force Agent assigned to the New Orleans DEA Task Force led an extensive two-year investigation that resulted in the federal indictment and the issuance of arrest warrants for Metz, Mackey, Turner, Daron Williams, Lonnie Williams, Amos, Holmes, Parker and Wells. Subsequently, the law enforcement agencies participating with the New Orleans DEA Task Force, including PPSO, conducted a roundup where all nine Plaquemines Parish residents were apprehended without incident.

"Thank you to all the agencies associated with the task force that were involved in this investigation," said Sheriff Turlich. "Because of their meticulous work, we were able to remove nine repeat offenders from the our community."
