Belle Chasse, LA - On August 13, 2021, Chevron Oronite Oak Point made a monetary donation to the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office (PPSO) to support the continued training of PPSO personnel as well as community-based programs. The generous contribution valued over $9500 was utilized to purchase eight Dell laptop computers.

After the delivery, Peggy Ramey, Oak Point Corporate Affairs Advisor, presented Sheriff Gerald "Jerry" Turlich Jr. and SALT Program Director Glenda Jenkins with the laptop computers at the PPSO Administration Building in Belle Chasse. Especially with the ongoing battle with the current pandemic, the versatile laptop computers will benefit deputies with online in-service training at various PPSO facilities while being instrumental with applying additional educational resources for the PPSO community-based programs such as the Young Marines, Citizens Police Academy and Seniors and Law Enforcement Together (SALT).

"We are extremely grateful for Chevron's longstanding support and dedication to the betterment of Plaquemines Parish," said Sheriff Turlich. "There's no doubt these computers will be another beneficial tool for our deputies as well as the residents of our community."

"Our investments in educational training help Plaquemines Parish prosper," said Brett Cooley, general manager of Chevron Oronite Americas Manufacturing & Supply. "By working together with the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office, we help the communities where we operate advance progress and strengthen."

Thank you to Chevron Oronite for being a dedicated contributor and supporter to the community of Plaquemines Parish since building the Oak Point additives plant in 1943.
