Slidell Couple Arrested in Connection to the Burglary and Arson of the Residence of Lt. Governor Billy Nungesserase

Belle Chasse, LA - Sheriff Jerry Turlich announces the arrest of Robert Kelly, 43, and Angela Goodfellow, 43, of Slidell, Louisiana in connection to the Simple Burglary of the residence of Louisiana Lieutenant Governor, Billy Nungesser. Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office (PPSO) issued arrest warrants for Kelly and Goodfellow on one count of Simple Burglary and one count of Simple Arson each. Subsequently, the couple were apprehended in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

On Thursday, April 14, Kelly and Goodfellow forcibly entered the residence of Lt. Governor Nungesser, located in the Point Celeste area of Plaquemines Parish, and removed various items while also setting a fire in the kitchen area of the location. Utilizing sophisticated investigative techniques, PPSO Investigators worked in collaboration with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office, Pearl River County Sheriff's Department (Mississippi) and the Tuscaloosa Police Department (Alabama) to apprehend Kelly and Goodfellow without incident.

Kelly and Goodfellow will be extradited and transported to Plaquemines Parish to face the Simple Burglary and Simple Arson charges relative to the Nungesser case. With this being an ongoing investigation, additional charges may been pending against Kelly and Goodfellow. Additional information will be released when it becomes available.
