Potential Flooding Threat to Highway 23 in Myrtle Grove

Due to a potential flooding threat to Highway 23 in the Myrtle Grove area, PPSO deputies went door to door in the Ironton community to assure residents were aware of the threat. If Highway 23 floods, residents will not be able to utilize the River Levee to evacuate south of Phillips 66. Residents who did not evacuate may experience limited emergency services. Residents are encouraged to come north of the floodwall, if they can do so safely. Otherwise emergency officials encourage you to shelter in place.
