OFFICIAL NEWS RELEASE
For Immediate Release

Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office (PPSO) is currently investigating a homicide that occurred today, May 11, at approximately 10am in the area of Highway 23 and West Ravenna Road located just south of Phillips 66 Refinery Alliance.

PPSO deputies responded to the report of a shooting and discovered a male victim with multiple gunshot injuries. Plaquemines Parish Emergency Medical Services arrived, but the victim was pronounced dead on the scene. The victim has been identified as Jimmy Fullerton, 28, of Covington, Louisiana.

During the course of the investigation, responding deputies were able to develop Kenneth Naquin, 26, of Metairie as the suspect while gathering pertinent information including a description of the dump truck he was operating. Due to the quick actions of deputies on the scene, surrounding deputies were able to conduct a stop of the suspect vehicle and made contact with Naquin, who was then arrested in connection to the shooting. Preliminarily, it appears Naquin and the victim were both active dump truck drivers and were involved in an unspecified altercation that led to the shooting.

Naquin will be transported to the Plaquemines Parish Detention Center and booked with Second Degree Murder.

This is an active investigation and additional information will be released when it becomes available.
