On Thursday, August 15, 2019, the Plaquemines Social Aid & Pleasure Club made a monetary donation in support of the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office (PPSO). Sheriff Gerald A. Turlich Jr. advised the generous donation has been dedicated to purchase two TASER Conducted Electrical Weapons.
Several members of the Plaquemines Social Aid & Pleasure Club gathered at the PPSO Administration building in Belle Chasse and presented Sheriff Turlich with the donation.
“Less lethal equipment such as a TASER provides us with an additional option which allows us to effectively carry out our duties while possibly avoiding a violent encounter,” said Sheriff Turlich. “Thank you to everyone at the Plaquemines Social Aid Club for aiding us with this invaluable tool that ultimately protects our deputies as well as our citizens.”
Established in 2014, the Plaquemines Social Aid & Pleasure Club is a non-profit organization compiled of Plaquemines business men and women with a mutual goal of assisting those in need throughout Plaquemines Parish.
