Belle Chasse, LA - Sheriff Gerald A. Turlich, Jr. announces the arrest of a juvenile male, 15, of New Orleans for the Simple Burglary of a business in Belle Chasse. The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office (PPSO) also issued an arrest warrant for Antonio Antil, 18, of New Orleans for Simple Burglary of the same business.

On Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at approximately 3:55am, PPSO deputies responded to a business located on Highway 23 in Belle Chasse regarding a possible burglary. PPSO District 1 Patrol deputies arrived to discover a glass window on the front of the business to be completely shattered. While investigating this incident, PPSO detectives were in contact with Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office investigators, who were also investigating a similar simple burglary of a business that occurred approximately an hour earlier. PPSO and JPSO detectives were also working in coordination with New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) investigators, who were able to apprehend two individuals, later identified as Antil and the above juvenile male, while in possession of a stolen vehicle and firearms as well as items connected to the simple burglaries. Utilizing additional investigative methods and resources, PPSO detectives were able to identify Antil and the juvenile male as two out of the three suspects involved in the Belle Chasse burglary. PPSO detectives were able to secure arrest warrants for Antil and the juvenile male for the felony charge of Simple Burglary in connection to the Belle Chasse incident.

"These individuals forced entry into one of our local businesses and used different items of clothing to conceal their identities," said Sheriff Turlich. "Thanks to the persistence of our detectives, we were able to identify these suspects despite their attempts to disguise their identities."

The juvenile male is currently in the custody of the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office. Antil was booked and charged with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Firearms, Hit & Run, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile and Resisting Arrest by the New Orleans Police Department and is currently in the custody of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office facing a Simple Burglary charge. Antil will be transported and booked for Simple Burglary at the Plaquemines Parish Detention Center upon his release. This is an ongoing investigation as additional charges and/or arrests may be pending. If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact Detective Mikayla Denny at 504-934-6820.
