Plaquemines Parish Implements Nightly Curfew Effective Immediately Due to Tropical Storms Laura & Marco

In coordination with the Plaquemines Parish Government, Sheriff Gerald A. Turlich, Jr. announces a nightly curfew will go into effect nightly as of today, August 23, 2020, from sunset until sunrise in the areas under a mandatory evacuation in anticipation of tropical storms, Laura and Marco.

With a mandatory evacuation ordered for the entire eastbank of Plaquemines Parish as well as the westbank from Phillips 66 Alliance Refinery to Venice, the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office (PPSO) urges all residents to abide by the curfew with the exception of law enforcement and emergency personnel. PPSO will be enforcing this curfew and ask for the cooperation of all residents as we prepare for potential impacts from these tropical systems.
