National Night Out Against Crime in Plaquemines Parish

Although Plaquemines Parish officials are currently monitoring the projected track and preparing for potential impacts of Tropical Storm #Delta, Sheriff Gerald A. Turlich, Jr. anticipates the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office (PPSO) will participate in the National Night Out Against Crime scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, 2020.
In order to maintain a healthy and safe environment for the residents of Plaquemines Parish as well as the employees of the sheriff's office, PPSO will feature drive-by parades through participating neighborhoods/streets in a show of unity in partnership with our community against crime... from a distance. With the assistance of the Plaquemines Parish Fire Department, PPSO will be conducting three separate parades throughout the parish to ensure all participating neighborhoods are visited in a timely manner. Listed below are the neighborhoods/streets currently participating in the National Night Out Against Crime event:
District 1 Patrol Area (Belle Chasse area):
- Springwood Subdivision: Jasmine Court
- Chapel Hill Subdivision: Chapel Hill Drive
- The Parks of Plaquemines: Pelican Crest, Hidden Cove & Kellywood Court
- Cypress Park Subdivision: Hidden Cypress Drive
- Pleasant Ridge Subdivision
- Shirley Street (North side of Belle Chasse Bridge)
- Claire Street & D'Olivier Street
- Dr. Gorman Drive
- Bradley Place
- Adam Drive in Jesuit Bend
District 2 Patrol Area (Boothville/Venice, Buras, Port Sulphur):
- Hartt's Exxon on Highway 23 in Venice
- Williams Lane in Boothville
- Mimosa Lane in Port Sulphur
District 3 Patrol Area (Eastbank):
- Parade will proceed through Bohemia, Davant, Phoenix and Braithwaite
Sheriff Jerry Turlich invites all residents to stand together with PPSO to fight against crime and participate in a parade near you! The parade in District 1 (Belle Chasse/Jesuit Bend) will start at approximately 5:45 pm, District 2 (Venice/Boothville/Port Sulphur) between 4:30 - 5 pm and District 3 (Eastbank) at approximately 5 pm. PPSO reminds everyone to continue to practice and promote all safety precautions to ensure a safe and healthy event.
