Belle Chasse, LA - Sheriff Gerald A. Turlich, Jr. announces the arrest of Joshua Warden, 18, of Harahan, Louisiana with the Unlawful Sale of Tobacco/Vape Products and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile.

As the result of an extensive investigation by the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office (PPSO) Drug Interdiction Criminal Enforcement (DICE) Unit, Warden was arrested in the early morning of January 13th after selling vape products to a juvenile outside their residence in the Belle Chasse area.

"With this incident occurring shortly after midnight, It's very concerning that an adult met a juvenile teenager with the intent to sell them products knowing they were not capable of legally purchasing or possessing vape products, but this particular incident is extremely disturbing because he attempted to convince the juvenile victim to allow him to enter the residence knowing the parents were not home," said Sheriff Turlich. "Between associations at school and direct contact through social media, I implore parents to stay involved in your teenage children's activities and monitor interactions through social media sources and text messages. This case had the potential of being much more serious and tragic than just the sale of illegal vaping products."

If you have any information regarding the sale of vaping products to underage individuals in Plaquemines Parish, please contact the PPSO DICE Unit at 504-934-6905.
