BELLE CHASSE, La. - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces an upcoming patching and resurfacing project on LA 23 (Belle Chasse Highway) from Barriere Road to Russell Drive in Plaquemines Parish.

The $4,432,777 project includes concrete pavement patching, asphalt resurfacing, sidewalk handicap ramp installation and the addition of a northbound right turn lane at the intersection of LA 23 and La 406 (Woodland Highway).

The contractor, Barriere Construction, is expected to begin working during the week of March 15, 2021. The project is expected to be completed by March 2022.

Drivers can anticipate intermittent lane closures from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. daily within the project limits. DOTD encourages motorists to proceed with caution when traveling through work zones and appreciates their patience.
